Primary Function:
ChristianaCare is looking for a Full-Time Patient Access Director to supervise ChristianaCare's patient access operation including registration, insurance verification, financial counseling and authorizations.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Directs and coordinates the Patient Access operations, to ensure compliance with the policies, procedures, philosophy and goals of the System and Federal & State regulatory agencies.
Responsible for timely and accurate pre-service collections, patient estimates, insurance verification and demographic data entry.
Develops, designs, implements and continuously evaluates the quality and performance improvement including, but not limited to workflows, policies and procedures, tools, controls and reports that support an efficient, strong revenue cycle.
Directs and mentors management team and staff, providing direction and guidance.
Assists in the development of annual departmental goals and objectives. Reviews and ensures departmental performance and efficiency meets or exceeds established standards.
Monitors and produces best practice standards (KPI's) in a hospital environment including pre-service collections, days in A/R, cash/net revenue, and other relevant performance indicators.
Establishes appropriate departmental priorities and sets the standards for the quality of the work of the department.
Hires, evaluates and reviews performance of managers within patient access. Responsible to ensure all staff performance reviews are completed within the system expectations. Responsible to ensure all staff are following reasonable work expectations for productivity and quality.
Assists in the preparation of the capital and operating budgets.
Experience Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, Finance Management or a related field
Master's Degree preferred
Five years of experience in a healthcare related field
Three to five years in a progressive management position
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
