In compliance with applicable New York and New Jersey State regulatory authorities, COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine) is mandatory for all MSK employees, contingent workers, and volunteers. Exceptions are permitted for those employees who request and receive an approved medical or fully remote exemption.
*Staff working at a MSK New Jersey location must be up to date with COVID-19 vaccination, which includes having completed the primary COVID-19 vaccination series and booster once eligible as mandated by New Jersey State. All New Jersey staff not yet eligible for a booster must receive a booster within 3 weeks of becoming eligible as a condition of continued employment at MSK.
Note: Individuals are eligible to receive a COVID-19 booster five months after receiving the second dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or two months after the J&J vaccine.
Job Description
We are excited to be recruiting a Social Media Manager to report into the Senior Director of Social Media, who is passionate about using marketing and communications capabilities to position MSK as a leader in cancer treatment, patient care, and research!
We're looking for a content calendar guru and the person who can't stop presenting post ideas at every brainstorm. Someone who has worked in all facets of social media, so when they manage our day-to-day operations, they know firsthand the trials and tribulations of a publisher or community manager. Our ideal candidate lives creatively and isn't afraid to question the limitations. We hope you are a wordsmith and grammar nerd with a strong opinion on things like the oxford comma. Finally, we're looking for someone who truly wants to make a difference and has a deep passion for bringing the latest and greatest in cancer research to the masses.
You Will:
- Oversee day-to-day social media operations including content calendars, asset curation and creation, copywriting, scheduling, and publishing
- Optimize content across MSK's platforms based on available data and support from larger M&C team
- Help grow MSK's social media audiences, reach and engagement across all platforms
- Ensure development of social media guidelines for faculty, staff, and MSK employees
- Manage and assign all social media requests from internal partners to ensure all areas of MSK's mission are properly promoted across all owned channels
- Proactively raise issues, observations, opportunities, and insights to the larger M&C team
You Have:
- A background in marketing, journalism or communication
- Minimum 5 years of social media experience, experience working with an agency a plus
- In-depth knowledge of social media platforms and their users (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, etc.)
- Great verbal, written and presentation skills to communicate effectively, and on-brand, with various audiences, in-house partners and outside vendors
- Copywriting and grammatical expert a requirement
- Deep understanding of social media analytics and KPIs (Facebook Insights, Twitter Analytics, Emplifi, Google Analytics, Tableau, etc.)
- Deep knowledge and are savvy about current social media trends and innovations
- Solid understanding of digital content, communication and marketing principles
