Summary:
The Associate General Counsel is responsible for assisting the Vice President and General Counsel with the management of the legal, risk management and corporate compliance functions of the organization. 
Responsibilities:
1. Is responsible for assisting the Vice President and General Counsel with the management of the legal, risk management and corporate compliance functions of the organization.
2. Provides comprehensive legal advice and services for Children's Hospital and all of its affiliates, the Boards of Directors, Medical Staff, the executive team and the administrative staff, either directly or under supervision of The Vice President and General Counsel or through outside legal counsel.
3. Other duties as required. 
Other information:
Technical Expertise
1. Experience in healthcare and corporate law is required.
2. Experience working in or with a not-for-profit healthcare organization is preferred.
3. Experience negotiating and documenting complex transactions including mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures is preferred.
4. Experience with the practice of law related to real estate, malpractice defense, insurance, employee relations and finance is preferred.
5. Experience with the Joint Commission and other health care regulatory and accreditation standards and procedures is preferred.
7. Experience identifying legal risks in the context of the business objectives of a non-profit health care organization and develop innovative and practical solutions to address both is required.
8. Experience providing strategic, business and legal counsel to senior management is required.
9. Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
10. Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required.
Education and Experience
1. Education: Juris Doctor Degree is required.
2. Certification: License to practice law is required license to practice in the State of Ohio is preferred.
3. Years of relevant experience: 7 to 10 years is preferred.
4. Years of experience supervising: None.
