In compliance with applicable New York and New Jersey State regulatory authorities, COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine) is mandatory for all MSK employees, contingent workers, and volunteers. Exceptions are permitted for those employees who request and receive an approved medical or fully remote exemption.
*Staff working at a MSK New Jersey location must be up to date with COVID-19 vaccination, which includes having completed the primary COVID-19 vaccination series and booster once eligible as mandated by New Jersey State. All New Jersey staff not yet eligible for a booster must receive a booster within 3 weeks of becoming eligible as a condition of continued employment at MSK.
Note: Individuals are eligible to receive a COVID-19 booster five months after receiving the second dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or two months after the J&J vaccine.

The Center for Molecular Oncology (CMO) at MSKCC is searching for an outstanding Bioinformatics Engineer with an interest in working closely with computational biologists within the CMO to develop and deploy bioinformatic methods and resources relevant to high-throughput next-generation sequencing in the translational cancer biology setting. The focus of this work is the building and maintenance of software tools, pipelines, and resources for integrative analysis of high throughput genomic data, working with software engineers and computational based investigators.

You have!
- Master's degree or equivalent experience in biological sciences, mathematics, physics, bioinformatics, or related discipline with a strong quantitative background.
- Knowledge of Next Generation Sequencing technology and its application in cancer genomics
- Proven experience with NGS computational tools and workflows
- Strong programming skills and proficiency with scientific computing software and scripting languages
- Demonstrated ability to produce well designed, documented, version-controlled code in a team setting
- Solid understanding of Linux (or similar operating systems), and desired knowledge of HPC or cloud computing environments
