In compliance with applicable New York and New Jersey State regulatory authorities, COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine) is mandatory for all MSK employees, contingent workers, and volunteers. Exceptions are permitted for those employees who request and receive an approved medical or fully remote exemption.
*Staff working at a MSK New Jersey location must be up to date with COVID-19 vaccination, which includes having completed the primary COVID-19 vaccination series and booster once eligible as mandated by New Jersey State. All New Jersey staff not yet eligible for a booster must receive a booster within 3 weeks of becoming eligible as a condition of continued employment at MSK.
Note: Individuals are eligible to receive a COVID-19 booster five months after receiving the second dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or two months after the J&J vaccine.
Job Description
Are you looking for your next career challenge? We are excited to be recruiting a Director, Integrated Marketing & Communications, who is eager to join and grow new domain areas for marketing at one of the nation's leading cancer centers. This role is a critical building block in our efforts to pursue strategic growth initiatives, engage new audiences, and build MSK's brand around the world, in alignment with our vision, mission, and values.
As Director, you will work across MSK to develop and implement marketing communications programs, plans, content, and tactics that bring to life our unique differentiators, wide-ranging clinical and academic collaborations, and compelling patient or employee stories in a global context.
Reporting to our VP of Integrated Marketing & Communications, you will:
- Partner with colleagues in clinical and enterprise roles to understand the institution's strategic priorities, business objectives, strategic growth areas, and the MSK ecosystem to develop targeted and comprehensive marketing & communications strategies.
- Understand and incorporate specific audience needs into our plans, programs, and campaigns.
- Work with manager and peers to craft competitive analysis and positioning, market/audience research, value propositions, segmentation, messaging, along with plans, tactics, and timelines to drive desired results.
- Work across the M&C team to devise multi-channel brand awareness, content, and communications for specific programs and services, targeting both internal and external audiences. Regularly brief and work closely with brand & advertising, design, media relations, and editorial & content teams.
- Reimagine how key audiences will be pulled to and experience our growth initiatives and offerings, including appropriate destinations/digital presence on MSKCC.org. Regularly develop and refresh content.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on marketing performance and make recommendations to adjust approaches and boost results.
- Collaborate with team to identify, recruit and develop talent to grow our team. Work with and guide appropriate agency partners as needed.
You have:
- 12+ years of work experience in marketing or similar role combining strategy and execution, applying a broad range of business knowledge to manage complex work assignments.
- Ability to develop trusting, highly professional relationships with colleagues at every level of the organization, spanning multiple departments and functions. Desire to bring stakeholders along, solicit input, and work collaboratively.
- Outstanding writing, editing, presentation, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize sophisticated information and complex ideas into accessible and relatable terms.
- Strong analytical skills and enterprise software knowledge. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Yammer) and other collaboration, digital content management, and project management tools.
- Industry experience in life sciences, healthcare, healthcare consulting, or health tech is a plus.
- Enthusiasm for and dedication to MSK's mission.
