Overview
St. Luke's Health System in Boise, ID is seeking an Associate General Counsel with experience advising health insurers and managed care plans to join our legal department focusing on support of St. Luke's Health Plan.
Unit/Position Summary:
The Associate General Counsel provides guidance and support on organizational legal issues.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Primary legal resource and advisor for one or more key practice areas.
- Analyzes legal issues, drafts key documents, develops policies, and assists with governance and risk managementactivities
- Ensures the organization operates in accordance with all applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations.
- Advises the board(s) and leadership on recent changes in laws and regulations that affect the company.
- Supports strategic planning activities involving legal issues.
- Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Leads and directs work of other legal team members.
- Coordinates and oversees outside legal resources for organization and its subsidiaries.
- Protects company rights in contract negotiations, settlement, and litigation.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education: Advanced degree - J.D. or LL.M.
- Experience: 6 years of experience handling legal issues related to health insurers or managed care plans.
- Licenses/Certifications: Must be a member of the Idaho Bar within one year.
