Position Summary
The Director of Reimbursement serves as an internal consultant to PCH leadership for reimbursement and Medicare/Medicaid regulatory matters and is responsible for proposing, implementing, reviewing, and modifying all work related to revenue maximization strategies in compliance with federal, state and local laws/regulations. The Director is responsible for leading and coordinating the continued development of accounts receivable valuation, net revenue reporting capabilities, all third-party reimbursement and cost reporting functions. The Director is responsible for the maintenance and optimization of the newly implemented Crowe Revenue Cycle Analytics (RCA) tool.
The Director brings high-level insight and perspective to analyze and interpret financial information that supports the overall financial vision for Phoenix Childrens Hospital and elevates the level of financial analytical information provided to the organization. The Director will ensure system-wide capabilities to evaluate/understand Phoenix Childrens net revenue performance, guiding critical business decisions. The Director is responsible for developing a high performing team of professionals aligned with the organizations goals and values.Education
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance required. (Required)
- Masters Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred. (Preferred)
Experience
- Ten (10) years of experience working in healthcare finance and accounting. (Required)
- Five (5) or more years management/leadership experience. (Required)
Certifications
- CPA, CHFP, or FHFMA (Preferred)

- Deep understanding of the healthcare industry, trends, issues, and risks. (Required)
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving capabilities. (Required)
- Strong intellectual curiosity and desire to challenge the status quo. (Required)

- Must be familiar with concepts related to healthcare financial accounting and reporting. (Required)
- Possesses ability and desire to interpret and explain complex reimbursement related issues to individuals at all levels. (Required)
- Demonstrated knowledge of reimbursement, the month end close reporting process, and net revenue analysis. (Required)
- Ability to work with large complex data sets and data manipulation. (Required)
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills. (Required)
- Basic knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid cost reporting. (Required)
- Effective communication skills, verbally and in writing with management, staff and physicians. Experience and proficiency in preparing and conducting presentations and training programs. (Required)
