Cejka Search has been retained by Hometown Health, the insurance division of Renown Health and largest locally owned not-for-profit insurance company in northern Nevada, to recruit a Chief Operating Officer .
Established in 1988 and based in Reno, Nevada, Hometown Health offers all products except Medicaid to its 140,000 members statewide. As Nevada’s oldest and largest managed care organization, Hometown Health is supported by more than 200 employees and has a comprehensive provider network with nearly 10,000 healthcare professionals statewide. Renown Health comprises three acute care hospitals, a rehabilitation hospital, skilled nursing, and the area’s most comprehensive medical group and urgent care network servicing patients across northern Nevada, Lake Tahoe, and northeast California.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Operating Officer is a newly created leadership role dedicated to the health plan strategy development, operational execution, and overall financial results for the commercial and government programs, value-based contracting, provider performance management, and total cost of care management. The Chief Operating Officer will be instrumental in planning, leading, and managing the objectives of the health plan and health system to achieve excellence in service operations to impact member growth and retention, market-leading operational metrics, and compliance with all local, state, and federal standards. The Chief Operating Officer will work across all departments within the health plan and health system’s shared services departments to ensure excellence in the health plan operations and work products.
Successful candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree in business administration, or related field, and will be an accomplished health care leader with a successful track record in leading strategy and operations of a health plan. A master’s degree is highly preferred. Qualified candidates will have demonstrated abilities leading commercial and government programs, value-based contracting, and total cost of care initiatives. Experience in leading, mentoring and developing highly functional teams in a managed care environment is desirable.
