OVERVIEW: Cleans, wraps, sterilizes, stores and distributes equipment, supplies and instruments used in patient care.

SCOPE: To provide sterilized equipment and instruments for surgical procedures.

REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

???Advanced Sterile Processing
Coordinate and assist with direction of the shift. Functions as preceptor and educates. Maintain PAR levels to assure inventory, trays and instrumentation. Maintains adequate stock and storage of supplies and equipment to ensure instrumentation and scopes are available.

???Equipment Operation
Operates equipment to decontaminate, prep and pack, sterilize, pick instruments and trays to set up case carts.

???Instrumentation
Records and reports malfunctioning equipment and broken instrumentation, scopes and supplies in order to ensure adequate availability

???Workflow
Enhances daily Perioperative and clinic flow

???Quality and Process Improvement
Engages in quality assurance activities and lean/process improvement projects

Qualifications

Required:

??? High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred:

??? 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

??? Certified Registered Central Supply Technician (CRCST) through International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)
