Summary:
Position reports to the Senior Vice President of Clinical Services Lines. As the Vice President (VP), the position will provide the strategic vision, oversight, plan, organize and direct all functions and activities related to diagnostic imaging, interventional radiology, inpatient and outpatient imaging services as well as imaging related business ventures and partners. The VP must be able to identify innovative process changes for the future, lead a large team, and collaborate with Lifespan leadership, including affiliate Presidents to drive efficiencies, profit, and technological advances in medical imaging. The VP will promote high quality standards with an emphasis on patient and family centered care.
The leader will be the system expert on imaging services which includes guiding initiatives that optimize ease of access, process improvement, patient safety and quality. In addition, the VP will be accountable to interpret policies, standards and regulations to personnel, patients and medical staff.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, direct, and drive a comprehensive strategic plan for Imaging services,
- Work closely with affiliate leaders and directors of imaging services to develop and execute local strategies that are aligned with the system-wide strategic plan.
- In collaboration with the SVP of Clinical Service Lines, develop short- and long-range goals and objectives for system-wide imaging services.
- Design, develop and implement the imaging services business plan to ensure a consistent and coordinated delivery of care.
- Develop and implement system-wide operational plan for Imaging Services.
- Develop strategic system-wide 5 year capital plan.
- Evaluate financial performance of imaging services; recommend and implement specific actions to optimize financial results. Provide executive oversight for the System’s Radiation Control Program.
- Partner closely with the radiology Chiefs and Vice Chairs at Lifespan. Develop and foster partnerships with
third-party radiologists
- Provide executive leadership for system-wide imaging services, including directors, managers, and 800+ employees.
- Drive innovation and technology advancements within medical imaging as it relates to patient care and patient records .
- Plan for, lead, and/or sponsor efforts to design and implement process improvement initiatives for imaging services. Partners with Quality & Safety and Lifespan stakeholders to use Lean, Six Sigma, and other approaches and tools to streamline processes, improve service delivery, and ensure quality and safety for patients.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s in business administration, or like advanced degree, strongly preferred
- 5 plus years of applicable experience. In addition, 7 years in a leadership role with clinical background in healthcare strongly preferred
- Knowledge and understanding of national issues related to Radiology practice preferred
- Strategic thinker with analytical problem-solving capabilities
- The ability to oversee and implement wide scale projects across a large hospital system
- Highly developed thoughtful, analytical skills; ability to function at a high level in
a fast-paced environment
- Experienced in managing complex operations at a system level; ability to navigate large, complex organizations
- Demonstrated skills in system thinking
- Proven track record of success influencing and building strong relationships at all levels of a complex organization
- Ability to organize workload to provide reliable follow-through and meet timelines/deadlines
- Experienced in negotiations. Build upon existing partnerships
- Experienced with data analysis and interpretation
- Strong background in OSHA and GMP requirements
- Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience preferred; Epic strongly preferred
