PIH Health Downey Hospital is actively recruiting for a CNO and seeking internal candidates who are interested in a career advancement opportunity. The CNO has authority, responsibility and accountability for nursing services throughout the organization.   This role does not require prior CNO experience. Qualified candidates will have 5 years of Nursing Leadership experience working with other members of the administrative team in overseeing care in accordance with accepted medical practice. This role requires experience collaborating with other members of the executive management team and physicians to fulfill the institution’s mission through safe, high quality and cost effective care.  Qualified candidates will have experience continuously working to improve the work environment for the nursing staff and have been actively involved with the integration of technology into nursing practice. A strong track record of collaboration with physicians to assure positive nurse/physician relationships is key.

• Current California RN License
• Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing
• Masters of Science in Nursing or Masters in Public Health or Business Administration required
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements (JCAHO, Title XXII. OSHA, etc.) on a conversant level
• Comprehensive general nursing knowledge.

• Eight (8) years of nursing experience in an acute care general hospital
• Five years of progressively responsible supervisory and administrative experience
• Demonstrated success in promoting and implementing professional nursing.
