SUMMARY: Valley Children's Healthcare is seeking a Manager for its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Valley Children's main Hospital campus in Madera provides Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU) support - the highest level of care available for neonates and infants. Valley Children's supports a network of NICUs throughout Central California, providing the opportunity for families with critically ill babies to receive treatment closer to home throughout his or her entire stay.
The Manager is responsible for the overall day-to-day management of the care and services provided by the department and its related operation.Position Details and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the accountability for fiscal performance, quality outcomes of care provided, employee engagement and the patient experience within the department
- Responsible for human resources including performance and professional development of both Charge Nurses and Staff
- Work closely with Charge Team and Recruitment to ensure proper staffing
- Work collaboratively with other departments on various projects and to ensure the unit is aligning with the overall goal of the organization
- This position practices within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act and in accordance with Valley Children's Healthcare policies
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred (either Bachelors or Masters must be in Nursing)
- Active California Registered Nurse licensure (RN) required
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a leadership or managerial role
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, with at least 1 year being in a pediatric critical care setting
- Minimum of 5 years increasingly responsible experience which demonstrates proficiency in the skills and knowledge required to perform the job is preferred
- Acceptable driving record and must carry car insurance with at least the minimum limits required by state law
- BLS required within 30 days of hire or transfer into the role
