RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an RDU Director in Jersey City, NJ
RWJBarnabas Health, the largest integrated healthcare system in New Jersey, is seeking an RDU Director to join our team at the Jersey City Medical Center. An experienced board-certified Emergency Medicine physician with an interest in operations is encouraged to apply. Responsibilities for the role include being in charge of and directing the administration and supervision of all medical services performed in the RDU, managing the RDU per organizational and regulatory guidelines, as well as the management of all physicians and mid-levels in accordance with their job descriptions. This position will provide services and functions as is reasonably requested by the hospital relative to the services being performed, and a qualified candidate will ensure the RDU meets high standards of health in accordance with policies adopted by the medical staff, hospital administration, and the Board of Trustees.
This position comes with a $50k annual stipend and will be working RDU observation clinical shifts with a few shifts at the Bayonne Satellite ED. As the largest integrated health care system in New Jersey, RWJBarnabas Health offers competitive compensation plus PTO and added time off and reimbursement for CME.
Preferred candidates will have:
- At least 5 years of clinical experience
- Previous leadership experience, program development experience, and/or teaching experience (preferred)
- Must be ABEM certified
- Active NJ license or eligible for licensure in NJ
Role Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain a schedule for physicians and mid-level practitioners.
- Report to the hospital administration and the Board of Trustees on affairs of the RDU as requested
- Participate in programs of formal and informal continuing medical education and perform such functions as required to follow appropriate regulatory agencies
- Participate in departmental QA both technically and on a patient care basis
- Be available to serve on committees of the medical staff and the hospital
- Accountability of providers and operational process improvement
- Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams
