The Director Applied Clinical Informatics â�� Clinical Portfolio Integration encompasses program development, process standardization, process improvement, relationship building, as well as leadership and mentoring. The Director will work to develop, revise and support standards related to the assigned specialty applications and practices. The Director will collaborate with other Directors who support physician, nursing, Core and other areas of practice to maintain and support a consistent standard. The Director has oversite for a variety of clinical applications to support nursing, providers, and therapies in multiple venues of care for adult and pediatric populations. The Director prioritizes change requests, issues and risks and monitors and reports progress towards resolution. The Director will oversee a team of technical specialists who, through collaboration and teamwork, ensure standardization and compliance within Tenet Healthcare System during pre, intra and/or post implementation phases of implementation and integration projects. This role requires experience to provide proper management of budgetary and operational policy related to the selection, implementation, and standardization of clinical applications in Tenet facilities. Effective communication skills are required to ensure clear understanding across all levels of the organization.
This role requires experience in collaborating with business partners and ensuring successful selection/standardization of clinical applications established within the Tenet clinical informatics strategy. Responsibilities include developing and managing the role of the departmental leads within Tenet. Responsibilities include developing and managing a variety of analysts and managers from a variety of disciplines to achieve departmental goals and priorities. The Director will need to apply his/her skills in a variety of areas including, but not limited to troubleshooting, integration, network infrastructure, local hardware requirements and procurement, coordinating resources, setting deadlines, and monitoring, summarizing and communicating the progress of projects. Also includes acting as an escalation point for users within the IT department and keeping management informed as to problem resolution.

Bachelorâ��s Degree in Business or Healthcare Administration or equivalent management experience.
Experience in Cerner Millennium Clinical Applications.
Progressive leadership and management experience.
Good managerial, organizational, diplomatic, conflict resolution and the ability to work within a heavily matrixed organization.
Experience with planning, organizing, monitoring and leading the work activities of a high-level project team.
Proven ability to communicate with and understand the needs of internal and external clients.
Ability to mesh well with existing management team by being a good listener, a team builder and articulate advocate of the applied clinical Informatics vision.
Expert level experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Project, Visio).
Ability to create and build spreadsheets and reports in Excel.
Ability to demonstrate competence in management and leadership skills to develop and implement organizational strategies and opportunities for improving hospital growth.
Effective English communication skills, both written and verbal.
Common understanding of hospital device integration and HL7 and point to point foreign system interfaces.
Be able to document and develop complicated workflows.
Be able to develop business models by identifying critical business needs at a detailed process level.
8+ years of previous IT management experience in a healthcare related industry with hospital experience.
PMP certification or extensive project management and operational implementation skills.
