Work Hours/Shift: Part Time / Days (20hr min / at least 3 days a week)
You Will Be Responsible For:
Demonstrates, through behavior, AdventHealth’s service standards.
Review of microbiology reports, and abstraction of medical record data.
Assist in identification of healthcare-acquired infections and analysis as delegated.
Uses computer systems for data search, data entry, reports, graphs, and data visualization.
Creates presentations, newsletters, and educational materials.
Identify infection risks and trends and prepare data for dissemination to organizational leaders.
Ensures data is accurately entered for publicly reported measures and other accrediting bodies.
Support of hospital-wide safety initiatives as delegated (e.g., hand hygiene surveillance program).
Conducts literature reviews to support infection prevention education efforts.
Remains current in evidence-based practice and new emerging trends.
Maintains professional work environment that is conducive to achieving accuracy andproductivity goals. Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and to meet deadlines.
Adheres to hospital policy for protecting patient confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines
What You Will Need:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree’ or equivalent combination of education and experience
Coursework with a focus on medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, epidemiology, microbiology, human disease, pathophysiology, immunology, and health sciences.
The Associate-Infection Prevention and Control (a-IPC) entry level certification
Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Health Sciences, or other healthcare related discipline
Strong organization skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Must be able to work independently
Proficient computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and Excel
The Infection Prevention Associate is an integral part of the Infection Prevention team. This role will provide support in various ways such as aiding with surveillance systems, data abstraction and reporting, communication, and coordination of infectious disease prevention efforts. This position acts as a support and resource for the Infection Preventionist(s), including assisting with data analysis or implementation of improvement activities.
