Oversees $150M+ in annual operating and capital budgets
Works with HealthIT Leadership to produce annual operating and capital budgets and monthly forecasts.
Tracking and reconciling all costs, ensures adherence to VUMC Finance policies.
Responsible for departmental procurement process.
Facilitates contract signature process for HealthIT.
Facilitates contractor SOWs.
Creates financial TCO models (Total Cost of Ownership) for large IT projects including expansion projects.
Office & Space Management
Oversees office needs and space for 520 FTEs.
Parking, supplies, computers, furniture, renovations, maintenance, etc.
11 suites in 2 off-campus office buildings. In FY22, will manage 2 large suites.
HR, Staff Policies, Recruiting, and Payroll for 520 FTEs
Approvals for all recruiting requests (PAR Forms; Taleo), HR and Payroll changes (PAFs; ePacs; Annual Increases, etc).
Employee policy and issues.
Remote Work/Work from Home/Alternative Work Arrangements.
HealthIT Leadership calendar and admin support.
Given the CBOs breadth of responsibilities, important skills would include the ability to:
build strong interpersonal relationships both within the department and with key members in other departments such as Finance, HR, Supply Chain, COO's office, etc.;
deal with conflict and difficult situations;
deal with conflicting priorities and a reporting structure with multiple indirect reports (i.e. HealthIT Exec Directors, Dept of Finance Director, Office of COO Director, etc.);
be empathetic and exhibit strong customer service skills;
build, lead and support strong teams;
influence other leaders;
practice continuous improvement;
budget and forecast large operating, capital, and project budgets;
analyze financial models.
