DetailsType:Full Time - ExperiencedDiscipline:ExecutiveRequired Education:MD/DOSalem Hospital, a not-for-profit Level II Trauma facility, is one of Oregon's largest acute-care hospitals, is home to the busiest ER on the West Coast, and is licensed for 494 acute-care beds.
We are seeking an experienced physician leader to assume the role of Medical Director for our large, well-established Adult Hospitalist program, comprised of 29 physicians and 7 nurse practitioners, and covering both Salem Hospital and West Valley Hospital.The leader will assume administrative responsibility, including but not limited to: overseeing regulatory functions for the program, addressing patient safety alerts, processing grievances, administering annual provider reviews, participating in strategy development and deployment, representing the program on hospital committees, participating in incident command as needed, conducting patient experience rounding, and fostering and supporting lean work focused on quality and process improvement. Additionally, the physician will be responsible for an annual shift count.
The successful leader will be a strong clinician, and a big-picture thinker who has previous experience as a Medical Director. The leader will serve as an advocate for the program, representing the team as an integral member of the medical group.

You may be a qualified candidate if you:
- Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
- Hold Board Certification in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine, or must be eligible, actively participating in the Board Certification process, and achieve Board Certification within 5 years of initial appointment to the Medical Staff.
- Hold a current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Oregon.
- Have active DEA certification.
- Provider leadership experience desirable.
