DetailsType:Full Time - ExperiencedDiscipline:ExecutiveRequired Education:MastersPenn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center is seeking a Director of Emergency Management and Business Continuity to join us in our mission to provide the best and most advanced care.
The Director will be responsible for oversight, strategic direction, and leadership of the emergency management and business continuity programs at Penn State Health, Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and College of Medicine.
Reporting to the Vice President, this candidate will focus on the planning and execution of these programs in alignment and partnership with the health system emergency management and business continuity structure. This will include developing policies, strategies, frameworks, methodologies, and tools that build upon the current programs and charter the journey to advance the programs and preparedness of the medical center, the academic practice division and college of medicine.
This position will work closely with hospital senior leadership, all clinical departments, the department of nursing, the adult and children's hospital, and the Academic Practice Division of the PSH Medical Group and will collaborate with Penn State Health to ensure programmatic alignment.
As a people-leader, the Director of Emergency Management will engage Learning & Leadership to build a system of sustained learning for leaders and staff, identify operational risks, and quantify their impacts to business operations
The position serves as the institutional subject matter expert to the medical center, College of Medicine and academic medical group during the emergency management phases of mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery as well as business continuity planning and response.
This position reports on the overall maturity of programs, the state of preparedness and the management of significant operational risks to executive and senior leadership as well as other key stakeholders.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's Degree in Emergency Management, Emergency Planning, Disaster Planning, Business Continuity, or a related field required.
7 years of experience in a healthcare environment management emergency preparedness, inclusive of business continuity, disaster recovery, and incident management planning required.
5 years of management responsibility required.
The following are required:
IS-100.HCb: Introduction to the Incident Command System (ICS 100) for Healthcare/Hospitals.
IS-200.HCa: Applying ICS to Healthcare Organizations.
IS-700.a: An Introduction to National Incident Management System (NIMS).
IS-800.b: An Introduction to National Response Framework.
IS-120.a: An Introduction to Exercises.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program training certification preferred.
Academic Medical Center or Health System experience preferred.
FEMA Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) preferred.
FEMA Incident Command 100, 200, 300 and 400 preferred.
FEMA Continuity of Operations Manager preferred.
FEMA EMI - Professional Series certificate of completion preferred.
FEMA Emergency Management Institute - Advanced Professional Series preferred.
ISACA Certified Information Systems Auditor preferred.
PEMA Emergency Management - Professional certification preferred.
Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) preferred.
Certified Project Manager preferred. Certified in Risk and Information Systems Controls preferred DRIICertified Healthcare Provider Business Continuity Professional preferred.NOTES:Employer will assist with relocation costs.
