Responsible for managing Risk Management and Patient Safety Department for assigned region. Engages as an integral part of providing safe, quality care to our patients and continually improving the care throughout the system. Collaborates with leaders to achieve goal of increasing quality and patient safety and decreasing harm to patients. Oversees comprehensive evaluation, investigation, reporting and remediation of safety events and daily operations. Responsible for compliance with relevant regulations and interaction with all associated regulatory agencies.Job Duties
- Acts as Patient Safety Officer for assigned locations, is responsible for the compliance with all Act 13 regulations, including high level trending of patient safety events, reporting to Patient Safety Committee and platform leadership and timely identification of safety events that require written notification to patients.
- Oversees the identification and review of potential Sentinel Events, collaborates with RPI to conduct and complete required analysis and action planning.
- Works collaboratively with Risk Insurance and Legal department as needed to identify potential claims and resolution of patient requests.
- Provides employee supervision and supports the daily operations of activities for the assigned Risk Management and Patient Safety Department(s).
- Contributes to the design and development of Clinical Risk Management and Patient Safety programs in coordination with director and division leadership.
- Participates in recruitment and retention of all professional and paraprofessional staff.
- Assumes operational responsibility for staffing plans to support the department best practices including position descriptions, performance evaluations, action plans, employee goal setting, hiring, promotion and disciplinary actions.

Risk Management & Patient Safety experience preferred.
Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) preferred.
On-call as Patient Safety Officer and occasional rotation within the department for on-call after 4:30PM - weekdays, weekends and holidays.
In this role you will have the opportunity to effect change, improve patient safety and work with a collaborative team.
Education
Bachelor's Degree- (Required), Master's Degree- (Preferred)Experience
Minimum of 5 years-Clinical (Required), Minimum of 1 year-Managerial/Supervisory (Preferred)Certification(s) and License(s)
Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) - RN_State of Pennsylvania
