Principal Sourcing Officer

Job Summary:

The Principal Sourcing Officer for Supply Chain provides leadership in ensuring all approved products are purchased under cost effective contracts. Identifies and coordinates all opportunities for contracting of new and existing equipment, supplies and services. Evaluates products and vendors.

Our department sources, purchases services, supplies, and equipment which supports education, research and patient care. Our mission is to collectively support the purpose and goals of Vanderbilt University Medical Center by sourcing and purchasing quality products, equipment and services at competitive prices, payment management of vendor invoices, payment cards and travel by providing excellent customer service that meet or exceed the Medical Center's requirements, and to perform our services to the highest ethical and professional standards.

• Manages existing contracts and supplier relations for complex areas and products.
• Negotiates complex contracts for continued cost savings and reliability.
• Performs financial analysis and needs assessment for purchases and products to include consideration related to total cost impact.
• Identifies any and all forms of cost savings opportunities utilizing benchmarking data.
• Communicates purchasing strategies to the buyers.
