DetailsType:Full Time - ExperiencedOrganizationThe Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children, part of Nemours Children's Health, is a world class, highly regarded, financially strong, progressive teaching hospital and research facility. Affiliated with Thomas Jefferson University the Alfred I. duPont Hospital is a 208 bed, state-of-the-art facility located on a beautiful 300 acre park-like campus with lush gardens. Home to Delaware’s only pediatric level I Trauma Center, with a level IV NICU and Magnet status, the hospital consistently named one of the nation’s best children’s hospitals year after year.RoleThe Senior Director of Quality and Safety will report to and collaborate with the physician Chief Quality and Safety Officer and be the dyad administrative partner for patient safety, clinical quality improvement, and continuous clinical regulatory readiness in the Delaware Valley. Oversee implementation of activities in patient safety, clinical quality improvement, clinical regulatory readiness, and infection prevention. Collaborate actively with operational leaders across the enterprise to ensure coordination of patient safety, quality improvement and regulatory readiness activities.- Direct and administer the activities of the Delaware Valley Quality/Safety Program. Collaborate with the CQSO and other senior leaders to identify priorities and implement major strategic activities related to clinical safety, quality, and continuous regulatory readiness.
- Supervise quality/safety program leaders for clinical safety, quality improvement, and continuous regulatory readiness to ensure success in each of these areas.
- In strong collaboration with the Delaware Valley CQSO, CEO, physician-in-chief, CMO, and Chief Nursing and Operations Officer, develop the strategic priorities of the program and related initiatives in alignment with priorities and programs across the Nemours enterprise
- Oversee implementation of the new Delaware Valley Quality/Safety governance structure and administer on-going activities of the major governance committees
- Oversee the administration of QAPI activities for Nemours/Delaware Valley, in conjunction with senior leadership and the Board of Managers
- Oversee the development of Delaware Valley-wide training, mentoring, and support for individuals engaged in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.Represent Nemours/Delaware Valley Quality/Safety program both locally and nationally. This includes working with Children’s Hospital Association, Solutions for Patient Safety; interfacing with Joint Commission, AHRQ, and condition- specific collaboratives as assigned.
Candidate Qualifications
- Masters Degree in health related field or MBA
- Knowledge of clinical quality and/or patient safety measures and indicators; data definitions and sources and relevant national databases and benchmarks; knowledge of healthcare quality and safety data design, collection, aggregation, and summation; expert knowledge of performance improvement models, methods and systems required.
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate with a variety of constituents in a matter that reflects respect and confidence and ability to relate comfortably and effectively to staff at all levels and to develop close, supportive working relationships. Leadership style is participatory and grounded in consensus-building rather thandirective. Must bring an open communication style and interpersonal skills to deal effectively and credibly at all levels of the organization.

- Experience in Pediatrics is NOT a requirement
