The Homecare Director provides overall management of clinical, regulatory, administrative, and financial direction of the department and assumes final responsibility for all activities and staff. Provides leadership and assistance in communication and direction of the overall functions of the home care and hospice service lines and serves as a member of the director level leadership team. The Director promotes the philosophy, goals, and objectives of ruralMED Management Resources.

- Adheres to the ruralMED mission, vision, and values.
- Responsible for all aspects of the operation of the agency.
- Initiates the development and implementation of policies and procedures that govern the organization.
- Provides direction in planning, decision making and policy formulation at management meetings.
- Conducts regular staff meetings.
- Directs continuing education and in-service programs.
- Organization of workload so that all functions are completed appropriately.
- Effectively and consistently communicates administrative directives to staff and encourages interactive meetings and discussions.
- Works with CFO and VP of clinical operation to plan, develop, implement and control the annual budget for the organization.
- Supervises the business affairs of the agency to ensure that funds are collected and expended to the best possible advantage.
- Presents to the Executive Team, Board of Directors and/or its committees, periodic reports reflecting the services and financial activities of the agency.
- Ensures that the agency maintains accreditation, licensing, and quality patient care through the establishment of performance improvement monitory programs and standards.
- Reviews operating results of the department, compares them to established objectives and takes steps to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results.
- Ensures team treats patients and their families with respect and dignity.
- Demonstrates competency annually in assigned areas of work.
- Participates in the director leadership team and other committees as assigned.
- Always maintain employee and patient confidentiality.
- Other duties as assigned by the VP of clinical operations or CEO.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directly responsible to the Vice President of Clinical Operations
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Works with human resources to select, employ, manage, and discharge staff and develop and maintain staff policies and practices for the agency.
Security/Access:
- Will have access to primary work location 24 hours a day.
- Will have access to confidential information abiding by the organizations privacy policies and regulations concerning this information.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Associates degree and/or diploma from an accredited school of nursing.
- Home Health, Hospice and Health Care Leadership Preferred
Certificates, Licensure, Registrations
- Current Registered Nurse license from the State of Nebraska
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Current and valid drivers’ license with acceptable driving record
- Current and valid insurance coverage within the legal business limits.
