Our PeriOperative Services department in Rhode Island Hospital is currently seeking a Director of Sterile Processing to join our team. Reporting to the Vice President of PeriOperative Services, you will assume responsibility for the 24/7 leadership of instrument management within the Sterile Processing department.In this position, you will develop and implement designs/systems for providing management services and participating in the development of the Strategic Operating Plan as well as the Division of Nursing/Lifespan Sterile Processing departments. You will identify areas of improvement, develop cutting-edge clinical and administrative standards and plan and evaluate programs in collaboration with physicians’ business manager.Other duties include developing and managing annual operating objectives, coordinating the review for compliance to internal and external regulatory standards and making yourself accessible to staff by making regular rounds. You will participate with perioperative leadership in incorporating evidence-based knowledge into decisions for the provision of safe, patient-centered care, direct the development and evaluation of programs for the recruitment and retention of the “brightest and the best” and oversee performance in immediate subordinates.Qualifications:- Master’s degree (MSN) in Health Care Administration or Nursing
- 7 years of progressively responsible roles in management with an extensive clinical background
- Certification in specialty
- Demonstrated skill in financial planning and advanced information systems
- High levels of analytical, qualitative and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills to provide care to patients with consideration of the aging process
- Active membership in professional organization
- National reputation in the Sterile Processing field, preferred
