National Quality Forum (NQF) is a not-for-profit membership organization conveniently located at McPherson Square in Washington, DC. National Quality Forum leads national collaboration to improve health and healthcare quality through measurement. We are currently seeking a part-time Office Assistant/Receptionist join our team.
The Director will be responsible for providing leadership and subject matter expertise on projects for the Quality Innovation (QI) team related to healthcare quality measurement and improvement. Specific topics may relate to areas such as person- and family-centered care, shared decision making, patient-reported outcomes, healthcare disparities, and other healthcare topics. Responsibilities include convening and facilitating project committees/expert panels, collaborating with external stakeholders, providing oversight and technical guidance to project teams, client relations, writing project reports, generating potential new project ideas and helping to secure funding, and contributing to the strategic direction of NQF.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
Serve as the lead and subject matter expert for project teams, project committees, and clients / funders
Assist in strategic project development and lead work plan development and execution
Direct, lead and facilitate project committee / work group meetings
Review and synthesize the evidence base and committee or workgroup deliberations to support committee work and final reports and deliverables
Identify opportunities for future projects and/or collaboration, and assist in generating proposals to external funders
Work with executive staff in development and implementation of strategic initiatives
Serve as an NQF liaison, speaker, or representative at external committees or meetings as appropriate
Collaborate with membership staff on identification of topics / speakers for membership webinars, meetings, and events
Work collaboratively within and across NQF departments to represent QI projects with NQF’s measures endorsement activities, HIT activities, and member outreach and education activities
Identify opportunities to collaborate with colleagues across the organization as needed to enhance assigned work
Support the mentoring of new and existing staff
Participate in the development of organizational policies and procedures
Proactively identify, communicate and escalate risks to leadership
Effectively model team dynamics and provide clear direction to ensure project success
Advanced degree in health / healthcare management (e.g., MPH, MBA, MSHA, MHA, MS) or health professional (e.g., RN, NP, PA) or Bachelor’s degree with six to eight years of relevant experience.
At least eight to ten years of work experience with a focus on healthcare quality and performance measurement
Management of large projects required
Experience coordinating, facilitating, and convening groups of stakeholders and experts
Proven ability to lead and manage multiple projects and competing priorities
Excellent leadership skills, able to inspire and engage stakeholders and project team effectively
Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with internal and external parties and ability to work well on a team
Experience with mentoring junior staff and supporting their professional growth
Strategic thinker with ability to design projects from conception to execution
Ability to solicit, review and integrate relevant input from committee members and stakeholders, synthesizing and articulating key themes
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Comfort with adapting to rapidly changing circumstances
Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
Strong proficiency in use of MS Office suite
