Tenet Healthcare has an immediate opportunity for a Corporate Employee Health Registered Nurse to support the corporate headquarters in Dallas, Texas. The Corporate Employee Health Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, providing guidance and on going review of health status and care for office based Tenet employees, with particular emphasis in the area of occupational health. The Corporate Employee Health Nurse uses current standards of care to meet a wide variety of health care needs of the Tenet office employee population.
ï¿½Develops and maintains employee health services policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable standards
ï¿½Monitors employee work-related and non work-related illness and injury trends and assesses, develops and implements strategies to prevent work-acquired injury or illness and expedite return to work
ï¿½Maintains confidential employee health records on all employees to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate standards.
ï¿½Reports any disease that is reportable according to state requirements, whenever a listed disease is identified
ï¿½Acts as a visible resource to department Directors, managers and employees for infection prevention and health maintenance practices. Ensures that practice and procedure match within the offices (visible signage, ample hand washing stations, clean environments)
ï¿½Collaborates with HR in reviewing pre-employment physicals of new hires to assure applicants are able to perform the essential functions of their job with or without accommodation prior to employee start date
ï¿½Works collaboratively with Workerï¿½s Compensation Claims Representative to assess work related injuries and illnesses.
ï¿½Provides safe, competent and efficient nursing care for minor and acute injuries and illnesses via protocols and medical directives.
ï¿½Provides guidance on necessary immunizations for employees while in the office but also traveling to other corporate sites.
ï¿½Monitors attestations by employees that they do not have symptoms of a communicable disease and are able to report to work on site.
ï¿½Performs assessments of employees who attest they are symptomatic with a communicable disease and determines eligibility to work on site or duration of necessary quarantine
ï¿½Directs office practices to provide an environment that is safe
ï¿½Counseling employees on physical and mental health issues and guiding them toward community resources and/or employee assistance programs.
ï¿½Demonstrates cost control in all practice activities.
Education: Required: BSN or Associate Degree in Nursing with Bachelors in a health related field.
Work Experience: Requires at least 5 years of nursing experience.
ï¿½At least two (2) years of Workerï¿½s Compensation and/or Employee Health experience.
Certification: Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) preferred
