Cejka Search has been exclusively retained by Codman Square Health Center, a nationally-recognized, community-based, outpatient health care and multi-service center in the heart of Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood, to assist in the recruitment of a Chief Medical Officer. Established in 1979, Codman Square Health Center serves as the principal option for affordable, quality, primary and preventive care in one of Boston’s most vulnerable communities. A Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), Codman Square is recognized as a Level 3 Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) by the NCQA, and maintains the PCMH PRIME certification, reflecting the integration of behavioral health into the primary care model.
Codman Square Health Center (CSHC) provides comprehensive services including primary care, urgent care, dental care, eye care, behavioral health, public health, fiscal health, fitness/wellness programming and youth programming. With a staff of over 300 multi-lingual and multi-cultural expert clinicians, medical staff and employees, CSHC serves 23,000 patients each year (87% of whom live below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level) with more than 115,000 clinical visits annually. Widely recognized for providing preventive and primary care services that engage consumers and embraces innovation, CSHC has developed an innovative Diabetes care model, collaborates with an in-house charter public high school, provides ‘prescriptions’ to its Healthworks fitness center for women and children, and serves as an economic engine by bringing 15,000 people to the Codman Square merchant district each month
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) maintains broad responsibility for all aspects of the clinical operation - ensuring effective, efficient and appropriate delivery of the highest quality of care. The CMO oversees the medical and behavioral provider practices including development of the care model; oversees quality improvement and quality assurance; and maintains responsibility for the family medicine and internal medicine residency programs, with a combined total of 32 residents. The CMO contributes to the development of the agency's mission, scope of care, policies and procedures, physician communications mechanisms, and outcome measurement tools to meet the clinical and regulatory requirements of the agency.
Qualified candidates will be proven physician leaders in the ambulatory or public community health setting, with experience developing and implementing standards of care; medical protocols; quality assurance standards and monitoring; and new clinic operating processes and systems aimed at improving efficiency. Excellent communication skills and a track record of interaction and collaboration with healthcare professionals, patients, families, physicians, and community groups are required. A medical degree (MD or DO), current board certification and the ability to obtain an unrestricted medical license in the state of Massachusetts are required.
