The Product Manager (PM) is responsible for delivering products that align with NQF’s mission and priorities, meet market needs, and have a consistently high standard of quality. The Product Manager will oversee multiple products throughout their lifecycles from concept to end-of-life. The PM will develop a vision and roadmap for new and in-market products based on market and user research, input from internal stakeholders, and their own industry insight. The PM will work closely with NQF program, IT, Communications and other operations staff, as well as external partners, on development and management of products.
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Write business cases for product investments and gain approval from senior leadership.
Write product and market briefs.
Establish partnerships with key external and internal stakeholders.
Define the product portfolio and maintain and track the inventory of product activities.
Create and maintain a prioritized backlog of user stories and feedback for each product.
Bring together product delivery teams consisting of internal subject matter experts and external market research, user/usability research, human-centered design, and software development talent.
Develop and deliver products to market using agile methods, while shifting direction in response to changing conditions.
Coordinate the core positioning, messaging, marketing plans and budgets for each product with marketing and communications staff.
Represent the customer perspective in order to incorporate that perspective into product design.
Foster a solutions-oriented environment in terms of culture, process, and capabilities including digital solutions and marketing. Increase the overall product competency in the organization by working collaboratively and sharing expertise with SMEs within NQF.
Forecast product performance (e.g., utilization, sales, mission impact, revenue, profit) then report on progress regularly to stakeholders.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
Bachelor’s degree in related area
Minimum of 5 years of experience repeatedly defining and launching products using human-centered design and agile methods
Healthcare industry experience preferred
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with and influence cross-functional teams consisting of subject matter experts, usability researchers, marketers, designers, and software developers without formal authority
Demonstrated strategic and solutions-oriented thinking
Demonstrated product leadership skills, including ruthless prioritization and use of evidence-based decision-making at every stage of the product lifecycle
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills, including strong attention to detail
Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills
