National Quality Forum (NQF) is a not-for-profit membership organization conveniently located at McPherson Square in Washington, DC. National Quality Forum leads national collaboration to improve health and healthcare quality through measurement. We are currently seeking a Project Manager, Quality Measurement to join our Quality Measurement team.
The Project Manager is responsible for the execution and oversight of various NQF projects including measure endorsement, measure selection and measurement frameworks. The Project Manager is specifically responsible for the day-to-day management, budgeting, communications and completion of high quality project deliverables in a timely manner.
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned projects.
Manage the day-to-day activities of projects.
Ensure that all projects adhere to the standard processes and standard work.
Responsible for project start-up/approval and close activities for assigned projects.
Direct and contribute to the development of meeting materials, draft and final reports.
Ensure that the work completed by project team (i.e., Project Analysts, Senior Director, Senior Project Manager, subcontractors) is completed on time and in a professional manner.
Manage and monitor assigned budgets and project databases (i.e., OPUS, SharePoint).
Coordinate and facilitate committee meetings, webinars and conference calls.
Track and report project milestones and develop monthly status reports.
Technical Research and Document Development/Preparation
Manage the development of research support for NQF project including:
Synopses or summaries of research findings specifically relevant to the project scope; and
Perform environmental scans for existing measures, use of measures in programs, best practices, or clinical care guidelines.
Prepare drafts of materials for project overviews, committee materials, memos, reports and other documents.
Measure and Practice Evaluations and Selection
Work with senior staff to evaluate performance measures and practices.
In collaboration with the project team, ensure that measure submissions are complete and identify areas where additional clarifications/additions are needed.
Review measures under consideration for evaluation and selection and provide preliminary recommendations and strategic direction for expert review.
Project Managers contribute to NQF activities outside the scope of individual projects, including:
Prepare drafts for proposals, task order responses and budgets as requested by senior management.
Participate in ongoing collaborative efforts to improve work processes (e.g., consensus development and measure selection improvements, policies and procedures).
Represent project team at internal meetings (e.g., NQF member calls, NQF annual conference)
Bachelor’s degree or Master's Degree in a related field (i.e. MPH, MSHA, MHA, MS)
Health Professional (i.e. RN, NP, PA)
At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience
Demonstrated success in project management required
Strong knowledge of the healthcare delivery system, public health, health IT or health policy
Prior work in the healthcare delivery system and/or quality measurement enterprise
Prior work coordinating and facilitating expert panel/committee convening activities
Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
Ability to focus on assignments and strong attention to detail are essential
Demonstrate organizational skills, ability to use systems, and time management
Willing to assume responsibility, self-starter who can apply new skills quickly
Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities
Excellent leadership skills
Ability to interact effectively with a variety of people and work well on a team
Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
Highly self-motivated and able to work independently
Proficient in use of MS Office suite
Experience with databases and SharePoint preferred
